Transformers Honeywell RCA900N1008/N 16V Low Voltage TransformerI installed a new Honeywell door chime, and tried to re-use the existing 16VAC 5VA transformer. But the transformer got loaded down to 10VAC by the door chime even when no doorbells were activated. Since I wanted to use all three buttons on the door chime and with lighted pushbuttons, I needed a beefier transformer.
This RCA900N transformer is the same part number specified in the door chime instruction manual, and is rated at 10VA, . It dropped right into the same 1/2" K.O. hole, and I measured 16.5VAC under load.
